FAQ
Answers — before you ask.
Everything clients typically want to know about our process, fees, timelines and confidentiality.
Getting started
A senior analyst reviews every new intake within 24 hours. If we need clarification, we call you directly.
Yes. We only charge if we accept the case and successfully recover funds. There is no cost or obligation to have your case reviewed.
The basics: what happened, how much was lost, when, and any documentation (statements, screenshots, wallet addresses). We handle everything from there.
Fees & payments
No. Our engagement is contingency-based — you pay only from funds we recover on your behalf.
Between 15% and 25% depending on case size. Larger recoveries pay a lower rate. See our pricing page for the full schedule.
Never. Court filings, translations and expert reports are billed at cost and pre-approved in writing.
Our fee applies pro-rata to what is actually recovered. If you lost $100k and we recover $60k, our fee is calculated on the $60k only.
The process
The median case closes in 8–16 weeks. Complex cross-border matters can take longer.
Yes. Every client gets a secure portal with real-time case status and document access, plus scheduled updates from your analyst.
We operate with regulated legal partners in 20+ jurisdictions. Cross-border matters are our default, not the exception.
Where useful, yes. Many cases benefit from parallel civil recovery and criminal referrals — we coordinate both.
Crypto & digital assets
In the majority of cases, yes. On-chain analytics and cooperating exchanges routinely lead us back to identifiable counterparties.
Mixers reduce but do not eliminate traceability. Modern clustering techniques and exchange choke-points often surface the ultimate destination.
Recovery from a private, uncooperative wallet holder typically requires civil action. We coordinate this via our legal partners.
Confidentiality & security
Only your named case team. Ashcroft operates strict information barriers between engagements.
AES-256 encrypted in transit and at rest. Our infrastructure is independently audited to SOC 2 standards.
Yes — mutual NDAs are standard on every engagement, and can be customised for institutional clients.
